Just as we did in March, on Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. we're hosting a members-only happy hour in our offices at the 1776 coworking space in Washington Square's Curtis Center.
Our new chief product officer will be making cocktails — she was a bartender for nearly a decade. You can expect networking with likeminded folks(including Technical.ly's members) and an open ear from our editorial team. Working on a new project you want to share with our reporters, or changing jobs? Come, share and maybe get featured in the next Member Spotlight (which we hope to bring back with vigor in Q1).
Become a member if you haven't already - its the only way to attend this event!
Every day we’re narrating how innovative impact leaders and organizations are trying to do more with less, how they can contribute good to Philadelphia amid the weight and wind of anything but. We need your help to expand and sustain that work.
If you didn't know, Generocity launched membership in January with the goal of bolstering support for our newsroom's work, and we got early buy-in from some pretty awesome people. For $10 per month, they've been getting a monthly Members Only newsletter, invites to exclusive events like movie screenings and happy hours, perks like free conference tickets and features in Member Spotlight articles.
For us, though, it means a lot more: It's financial support in a hard-to-fund industry and a cushion within our mixed-revenue model. We also make money via event sponsorships such as Tech in the Commons and INTER/VIEW, paid job posts and, for the first three years of Technically Media's ownership of this nearly decade-old news site, a grant from the now-defunct nonprofit Generocity Community Alliance. (We like transparency.)
The Generocity membership end-of-year drive kicks off Wednesday, Nov. 21, and we hope to gain at least 17 members by Wednesday, Nov. 28, to reach our 2018 goal of 45 members — or $5,000 per year — to sustain our work. All members signed up from January 2018 through Dec. 31, 2018 are counted in this end-of-year effort.
Consider this Happy Hour the kick off to 2019 where we have LOTS in store for MEMBERS ONLY.
See you soon :)
